At BetterListing, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our AI-powered Etsy listing generator.

1. Information We Collect

When you use BetterListing, we collect:

  • Account information: Email address, name, and authentication data when you create an account.
  • Usage data: Product descriptions, keywords, and photos you submit to generate listings.
  • Generated content: Titles, tags, and descriptions created by our AI service.
  • Technical data: Browser type, device information, and IP address for service functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the BetterListing service
  • Generate AI-powered Etsy listings based on your inputs
  • Manage your account and subscription
  • Send important service updates (no marketing spam)
  • Monitor usage limits and prevent abuse

3. AI Processing

Your product descriptions and photos are sent to OpenAI's API to generate listing content. We do not use your data to train AI models.

OpenAI processes data according to their API data usage policy, which states that API inputs are not used for model training.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS). Generated listings are saved to your account history for your convenience.

You can delete individual listings at any time from your history page.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except:

  • Service providers: OpenAI (AI generation), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting)
  • Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your generated listings
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data and generated listings are permanently removed within 30 days.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure authentication via Supabase Auth, and regular security reviews.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on our website.
